Florence City Views

Florence was so picturesque that we couldn't resist taking a lot of pictures of it.  These below are only a few!  The city is in a valley with a nice little river running through it.  Most of the city is on one side of the river, but there's a lot of pretty stuff on the other side -- much of which we didn't have time to get to.

Hotel Plaza Luccessi, where we stayed, taken from across the river.  Our room was in the top floor -- the one left of center with the awning up.

Another one of our hotel.  Why?  I don't know.

The city, taken from up near Michelangelo's  memorial.

Michelangelo's  memorial: another David, of course.

Yep, another one taken from up near Michelangelo's  memorial.  What a great sunset we had!

You guessed it -- another one of our hotel -- taken later when walking back from Michelangelo's  memorial.

Um, yep.  You know.  But Florence is so pretty; we just had to take lots of pictures.

This was taken from the Boboli Gardens/  The Duomo is just out of frame to the right.  I love the foothills in the background.

This is the river, taken out front of our hotel, looking toward the tower which is below Michelangelo's memorial (up the hill to the right of the tower).

This is taken from up near Michelangelo's memorial...

...as was this one, which has the bell tower at Palazzo Vecchio on the right...

...as was this one, taken later.  The bell tower at Palazzo Vecchio is on the left, the Duomo is near the center, and Santa Croce.
