Transportation, etc.

Probably not the most exciting web page of our trip, but it was just so unusual that everything was a boat...

A mail delivery truck...Er, uh, I mean boat.

A police boat.
We also saw a fire station with its doors open (boats, not trucks of course) when we first arrived, but we weren't able to get our cameras out fast enough.

A Bus (Traghetti) Stop, taken from a bus on the Grand Canal.

An airplane coming in for a landing at the Marco Polo Airport -- about a 45 minute ride from Venice proper.  Doesn't it looks like it's going to land in a swamp?

For some reason I was amused by the name of this airline:
"Away We Go".

Venice from the air as we were taking off...

Ditto.  You can see the larger canals cutting through it.  Unfortunately, we didn't fly directly overhead so we couldn't see all of the details of all the canals.

Me at one of the bus stops -- a boat, of course.

A taxi stand, with a taxi sitting there waiting.

Me and Kathy in one of the taxis.

Taken from our taxi, the main entrance to the Airport!
